David Slays Goliath And Wins Bigger Contracts. October 2010
ApparelGMS believes that IT software could help smaller companies compete with the big boys to win new business.

There seems to be a supply situation at the moment where the little guy often struggles to win bigger contracts on price alone, especially when competing with larger suppliers who can source directly and who may have decided to cut their margins to the bone just to get larger and larger contracts.
It’s not a brand new problem, but it’s one that has caused some notable casualties recently, even for the larger suppliers, who thought they could ride out the recession by effectively buying new business.
And it’s worth discussing now more than ever, because the solution is not just about the piece-cost-price of each garment, but the full cost of supply, including all associated administration and overhead costs, which can make up a significant, but often unrecognised part of the full contract cost.

ApparelGMS open up in the South. November 2009
Technopoly Ltd, developer of the leading garment stock management software ApparelGMS, is expanding its operations and has opened a new southern office.
From their new office in Poole in Dorset, the ApparelGMS team will be able to provide the full range of training and support services.
Graham Helliwell, Director of Business Development, said: “We have an ever-growing customer base in the south of England, right from Exeter in the southwest up to Cardiff and Bristol and right across to the Thames estuary.
“It simply made sense to be nearer to this important client base. From Poole we can get to the M25 area in about one hour rather than the three it takes from the north. This will make us even more responsive and efficient and also help us offer a better service to all of our customers.”

APPARELGMS GOES AUTOMATICALLY TO THE INDIVIDUAL. October 2009 .
Automatic email notification for workplace employees is now available as part of Apparel’s Man Pack corporate module.
With Man Pack, automatic emails are now generated to a workplace head of department, notifying them that workwear orders have been delivered for individual members of staff.
Man Pack was created for the workwear supplier wanting to fulfil large orders while personalising garments within the order. The email notification was created in response to customer wishes.
Graham Helliwell, of ApparelGMS, said: “Man Pack has always been about making it incredibly easy to personalise the garments within any order. This latest feature now means that each person who is to receive a garment is notified the second it is ready for collection.’’
Apparel’s Man Pack module now also offers users more choices when it comes to viewing order, sales, dispatch and return information.
Apparel is a user-friendly garment software system that allows companies to introduce online web ordering and gives them fully-integrated stock control, sales, order fulfilment, dispatch and invoicing. Its unrivalled back-up support and ease of use frees up staff and brings organisation, speed and efficiency to companies of all sizes.

MANY SPEEDY RETURNS WITH APPARELGMS. October 2009
Users of ApparelGMS can now offer customers a speedy online returns service.
Many major companies use ApparelGMS to manage their corporate and workwear orders to customers. Now those customers have the option of notifying the supplier online that a garment is, for example, the wrong size. With ApparelGMS, that online return notification can be instantly recorded and a fresh order created automatically.
The result is a speeding up of the replacement procedure from several days to just one.
Apparel’s Graham Helliwell said: “We are always looking to make the garment ordering system quicker, simpler and more efficient for our Apparel customers and the companies who they supply with corporate and workwear.
“This is a feature that we have introduced to help everyone in the order chain – suppliers, their customers and their staff who wear the goods.
“We believe this is a feature that reduces the workload on everyone.’’

APPARELGMS GETS TO THE CENTRE. October 2009
ApparelGMS can now be configured so that users can automatically group and issue invoices to customers’ relevant cost centres.
Apparel’s Man Pack module ensures that users can personalise large corporate and workwear orders for customers. Now it can be set up to ensure that invoices for individual garments or parts of the order can be automatically sent to the customer’s appropriate cost centre.
Kathleen Helliwell, of Apparel, said: “ApparelGMS has always made it possible for users to group invoices to suit a customer.
“With many large companies employing thousands and having a variety of cost centres we decided that Apparel users would benefit from being able to group and send invoices to the right customer cost centre.
“It is about making it easier for everyone to manage all aspects of an order.’’

Credit Crunch beater – Monthly licensing now available. July 2009
We are pleased to announce that we can now offer a new range of financial licensing options to purchase ApparelGMS as a complete package deal with low entry deposit costs and monthly payments spread from 12 months up to five years.
In response to market pressures, and in a direct effort to remedy an undelivered promise from government to help small to medium businesses. We are pleased to announce this range of new options that will help companies both large and small to buy ApparelGMS with less risk and at less overall cost.
Traditionally we have sold our software systems with full payment being made once installation is complete, either with payment directly to us or through a leasing company arrangement. More recently however, for a few selected clients we have offered the option to pay a deposit with the balance over three or six months.
This option has proved very popular and has allowed these companies to spread their payments and risk over a longer period. In addition, of course, it has helped them to ease their cash flow and given them more time to balance this outgoing cost against the financial benefits and savings they gain from using ApparelGMS.
This new initiative now brings ApparelGMS within everyone’s budget and cash flow limits.
So no need to delay, order your system today.

Technopoly Article in CompanyClothing magazine January 2007

Finding extra capacity Technology and service go hand in hand in corporatewear, as managing agent Trojan found out when it implemented a new Apparel IT solution linked to its existing Sage accounting system developed by Technopoly.

Image. Trojan Online ordering screenshot. For suppliers, replacing cumbersome paper systems with smart, efficient computerised versions allows them to maximise their existing resources, thereby increasing the efficiency of back office processes, and enabling staff to focus their time on servicing customer requirements and providing added-value services. From the point of view of the customer, who is getting better and faster service, this can only be a good thing.

When Steven Kluk took over corporatewear supplier Trojan three years ago this was one of his first considerations. ‘The company was operating using Sage for accounting and sales order processing, and all the information it had built up was handled manually, using spreadsheets. When an order came in it was typed up, purchase orders and receipts were produced, etc etc, and this took up a lot of time. Most of the staff had been with the company a long time – between 11 and 25 years – and they had extensive knowledge of the customers and how to service their requirements, so it didn’t make any sense that they spent so much of their time in data capture.’
